Whale Watching, Casino and juicy burgers at an Irish Pup - all in one day in Sydney.

On this particular Saturday (7.16.11) we set out from Manly to get a delicious burger and beer in the Sydney CBD and then hop on a boat that would take us out to sea for some whale scouting. It's whale watching season, and we have to take advantage of the opportunities that come from living here during the winter season. This is one of them.  We got to see a handful of humpbacks come  up for air, but no breaching - which means we will have to go again sometime in the future, as one of Eric's life goals is to see a whale breach. We then took the boat over to Darlingharbor. We have an Entertainment book with lots of coupons so we pick out places to go based on the best deals, which this time meant (for the fun of it) appetisers at one place and dinner at another. "We will not let you beat us - $80 Entertainment Book." Anyway, China Rita was a very nice suprise as they gave us bowls at our table upon sitting down which we got to fill up with an endless supply of krupuk. Eric was so excited about this as it's one of his favorite treats he remembers having as a kid at restaurant he used to go to his family with in Curacao. After dinner we made our way over to Star City to play some backjack and put a bet in on the US Woman soccer team.  A very fun day, won some money and made for a fun reason to wake up early the next day and sadly, watch the US women's soccer team get beat by Japan.

River Cats: Not the boats we would be taking whale watching, but cool lighting at Circular Quay this particular morning.
Before whale watching we must dine! To this Irish Pub we go. It was beer o'clock there.

Before: Notice the portion size of the fries (chips to the Aussies). A normal size, not American Size
(My butt appreciate this.) Tho it still looks like a lot of fries. Oh, and takes a lot to get yellow mustard here.

JUICY juicy burger. Do you see the puddle which have dripp-ed from thy burger - makes up for the normal portion of fries.

Here comes our whale watching boat
Zebra Sailboat!

Humpback whales.

Sydney By the Sea - A city by the Sea.

Zebra sailboat came out to sea with us.
Looking back at Watson's from sea.

Light house at the mouth of the Sydney Harbor - opposite Manly Peninsula side.

Pulling back in.
Instead of getting dropped off at Circular Quay we took the boat over to Darling Harbor to eat (twice) and check out the Casino, Star City. This is Darling Harbor.
Huge Buddha inside the restaurant we ate at called China Rita. Where they have  krupuk waiting at the door for you when you walk in.
