Ocean World - Lazy Sunday in Manly

On Sunday, after Dave left, we were feeling pretty exhausted so we decided to wander down to Ocean World at Manly Wharf and check it out. (Low key and also might be able to figure out what kind of shark it was that I found washed on shore in the a.m.)  It turned out to be cooler than we expected and we actually discovered they have a 'dive with sharks' opportunity, that Eric got pretty excited about. (Thet may happen later down the line.) and because it's older, they have quite the successful shark breeding program because they don't regulate the water temperature, like the newer aquariums do.
We also discovered the cuttlefish, which I did not realize is such an amazing creature! Wow! (see video - tho does not do them justice.)
After the aquarium we explored a little farther down the dock, and ended up finding a newly renovated restaurant on the water with amazing views and a really cozy atmosphere we loved. It's now my favorite place to go in Manly, and is truly the kind of place I would love to have our wedding reception. If only we could move it to the states or have everyone we loved in Australia. It's called The Pavilion and here is the link, in case you are curious about it.  Oh yah, we ended up talking with the bar tender about the awesome cuttlefish at Ocean World and he knew all about them, too and  recommended we watch "The Brainy Bunch," an Australian environmental documentary on the cuttlefish. We were able to download it and watch it that night; and boy did it blow our socks off. Look for it at your library if you can!

This is a legit "watch out penguins about" sign on sidewalk (footpath). They live around Manly.
