First time at the Opera. La Boheme

Tonight Eric and I experienced our first opera: Puccini's La Boheme. What better place than the world famous Sydney Opera House to do that. We ate dinner across from the opera house and then walked over, with me hobbling along in my high- high heels as usual. It was beautiful inside and warm and cozy. The opera was sung in Italian but it had subtitles running above the stage. We decided we might have been just as good without reading the subtitles. Not quite as profound conversations as we expected. Either way, it was still a fabulous way to spend a Friday night and to see a performance where the singers use only their voice to project their song is breathtaking alone. I'm so glad we made it to the opera while we were here.
