First Weekend in June - echidnas, cockatoos and wine, oh my.

The first weekend in June I took some more pics in the a.m. at Manly Beach and then we went on a hike around half the tip of the Manly Peninsula. We got to see our first cool Australian wild animal... an echidna. In the video you hear Eric talking about it being a pokey pine and shooting it's quills at us.. but it was pretty small, so as per my typical interest in animals - I continued to follow it. It was cool to learn it was actually the echidna (a marsupial) and also funny to discover I have been calling pokey pines, porkey pines, my entire life.

On Sunday Eric's co-worker/friends and their partners came over to Manly and we all checked out the Manly Food and Wine festival and then came back to the house for some wine on the roof and to introduce them to our friend's, the cockatoos. :-) Fun times.
