Well, Memorial Day Weekend Came and Went and we must say we had an awesome weekend! The weather was gorgeous Friday eve thru Monday eve. and the fog rolled in Tuesday morning just in time to help us get back to work with no regrets.
Friday eve we had a family dinner at my friend's house, down on a Hermosa walk street, just like old times. We got to meet Mel and Brandon's newest member of the family, Chowder; their 10 week old yellow lab pup. He is so so cute and sweet.
Saturday morning, 6:30am, Eric and I got up and headed an hour south to Trestles Beach to meet up with friends to surf. The guys surfed and I took photos. Check out the pics link at the bottom of the page to hear about more their adventures!
That afternoon we made it to a BBQ at Tara and Nicky's new house in Hermosa and then headed back out to Pasadena to a going away party. We had quite the long day but it was well worth it. We were so excited to have 2 more days of the holiday weekend left. And a side note, we noticed how people just seemed happy everywhere. It must be that one extra day that just leaves everyone so much more relaxed.
Sunday,I was a bit under the weather (no - not with a hangover) so we headed to the minute clinic at CVS which had me bounced back (with a prescription)to pretty good health by the late afternoon. ( I recommend that place for the weekend Dr. needs. It's much cheaper than a walk-in clinic and seems so much cleaner. http://www.minuteclinic.com/en/USA/) Later on, instead of heading down to the beach to join in on volleyball we decided to try out our new beach chairs on our roof! The stairs lead right up to the top, and since we are the top floor we don't have to worry about disturbing anyone below. It worked out great, had an awesome view, Ferrah could join us and we were able to walk one floor down to make lunch and refill our drinks. We will definitely be revisiting that activity some more this summer!
Since the sun has been staying up so late these days we still made it down to the beach allow Eric to get in some volleyball games and allow me to enjoy a little more of our new beach chairs and chat with the girls.
I guess puppies and kittens are our friend's thing right now - cause Karen (Jeremy's gf) and I headed back up to her house to play with her new little orange kitten, Monty - before we all headed out for some sushi. We love kittens!
Monday was a great day too! Eric and I got up early to get some coffee and head to Ferrah's fave place - the Donald Trump Dog Beach. She got to run and play and even got the courage to make a break for it - running straight into the waves with another big dog she was enjoying chasing around. On our way back we decided to check out the new Terranea Resort we had heard so much about. We discovered it to be beyond our wildest dreams, as a place to eat on the water with the pup! Like the Trump Golf Course, Palos Verdes required the resort building project to include public trails that go around the cliffs and down to the water. I think the best part about this place is the energy throughout it -coming from everyone around us being on vacation. We are for sure taking our next guests to this place! Check out out the views at this link! Nelson's restaurant at Terranea Resort link
Well that's it for now - if I go into anymore of our weekend I think I will have lost all of my readers. Click here to enjoy the photos of the weekend...
