The Unofficial Donald Trump Dog Beach

    This is one of my (Ashley) favorite places to go. Dogs are not aloud on the sand in Hermosa or Manhattan Beach - but we have found a beach Ferrah can go to and it's just 15-20 minutes down the coast! Donald Trump has a national golf course hanging right on the cliffs over the sea in Palos Verdes. We have discovered within here - a gem. 
      Actually, mom found it a couple years ago when she was out visiting. A tool our generation tends to forget about (the map), she had one out in hopes to help me find a hiking trail I had once been to in another part of Palos Verdes. I was intent on using my memory to get there, and she was intent on showing me that the trails are probably on the maps. In the course of looking for the trails she noticed a tide pool beach named on the map. 
    We headed out to that location, and low and behold was a massive (but gorgeous I might ad) gold course with Mr. Trumps name plastered all over it. I assumed this meant we could not head in, being we were hardly dressed for a fancy golf game & dog in tow.  However, In stead of listening to my doubts we drove on in, and as to my surprise was a public parking lot complete with hiking trails amidst the golf course that headed down to this beach! An even better sign, there were posts with "doggie bags" attached, giving the green light to take the dog down with us. 
     What we found at the bottom of the trail and cliff you will see in the photos and video below. This beach has been one of my most favorite places to go. You dog lovers will relate. It's so hard to leave your dog all weekend to go and play when you know you'd be happier with your four footed friend with you. So being able to do a little hiking, go to the beach, and even play in tide pools complete with star fish, crabs, shells and so on all with my pup is the best! 
    And to top it off, when you hike back up - if your hungry you can have a $30 hamburger/chips/beer grilled right on the terrace with the rest of the Trump golf goers. Yah it's expensive but to have a place in LA all to your self (there is rarely anyone sitting at this "19th whole" as the golfers usually take their food with them or sit inside) is worth it every now and then.
